Menurut David Gunawan, ketua rantau Astra Daihatsu untuk kawasan Jawa Timur, Bali dan Nusa Tenggara, permintaan terhadap mannequin dengan kotak gear guide bagi Daihatsu sememangnya masih lagi sangat tinggi.
“Untuk kami di Daihatsu, memang guide masih sangat diminati. Tapi memang kalau untuk jenama lain, saya lihat pasti transmisi automatik lebih diminati. Di Daihatsu sendiri kita juga perlu melihat modelnya, kerana setiap mannequin mempunyai dominasi yang berbeza antara guide dan automatik,” kata David kepada portal automotif Indonesia, Autonetmagz.
“Contohnya untuk Rocky (kembar kepada Perodua Ativa), tentunya pilihan transmisi automatik lebih dominan berbanding guide. Tetapi untuk Sigra dan Xenia (kembar kepada Perodua Alza), komposisi yang membeli transmisi guide lebih besar berbanding transmisi automatik,” jelas David dan menambah bahawa pilihan transmisi guide untuk pelanggan Daihatsu di Jawa Timur masih mencecah 80%.
Apa yang dinyatakan oleh Daihatsu Indonesia ini agak sama dengan apa yang disebut oleh Honda Indonesia sebelum ini. Menurut pengarah pemasaran jualan dan inovasi perniagaan PT Honda Prospect Motor, Yusak Billy ketika pelancaran Honda WR-V E dengan kotak gear guide enam kelajuan bulan lalu, Honda masih mempunyai ramai pelanggan yang mahukan kereta dengan kotak gear guide khususnya diluar kawasan Pulau Jawa.
“Honda WR-V E transmisi guide ini kami tawarkan untuk memenuhi permintaan pelanggan, terutamanya dari luar Pulau Jawa yang ada keperluan dan keadaan bentuk muka bumi yang lebih bervariasi. Dengan tetap menampilkan pelbagai kelebihan dari Honda WR-V, kami percaya varian ini akan memberikan lebih banyak pilihan dengan nilai yang lebih besar bagi pelanggan.” katanya.
